'Aiyyaa' First Stills: There is something very 'Vidya Balan' about Rani Mukherjee!

'Aiyyaa' is an upcoming film co-produced and written by Anurag Kashyap and directed by Sachin Kundalkar.
Aiyyaa stars Rani Mukerji and southern star Prithviraj Sukumaran.
Rani is a Marathi girl obsessed with films, especially South Indian films and is an over-the-top drama queen.
She falls in love with a Malayali artist played by Prithviraj Sukumaran.
It is a typical story of the West-South divide and their cultural clash.

Prithviraj Sukumaran plays the role of Surya.
'Aiyyaa' will clash with 'Chittagong' on October 12, 2012.
After Katrina Kaif and Vidya Balan, Rani did a lavani item number in the film. The song was choreographed by Vaibhavi Merchant.
Rani does three item numbers in her dream in 'Aiyya'. In this film, the girl has this habit of dreaming. One of her item numbers is a lavani song, again in her dream, said Sachin Kundalkar, director of the film.
She may be a Bengali, but Rani prides herself for her Hindi speaking skills. So much so that before the shoot schedule of her new film, the actress decided to give lessons in Hindi to her 'Aiyya' co-star Prithviraj.
Rani wanted to make sure that Prithviraj perfects his Hindi before he starts dubbing for the project. When she learnt that the actor opposite her was Prithviraj, she insisted that she would be the one who would teach him Hindi before he dubs for the film.
Rani was so impressed with Prithviraj and his performance and commitment that she even suggested his name to Aditya Chopra who has now cast him in the Arjun Kapoor starrer Aurangzeb.
Prithviraj Sukumaran is best known for his work in Malayalam and Tamil films. He made his debut in 2002 in the Malayalam film Nandanam. He has acted in more than 60 films.
Co-produced by Anurag Kashyap and Viacom 18, the movie is said to be about a woman who finds a man desirable because he smells good.
Kundalkar said that the final edit was locked by Anurag Kashyap who really liked the film.
The 2011 film 'No One Killed Jessica' was her last appearance in Bollywood. It was critically acclaimed.
Vidya Balan, whom she playfully spoofs in many scenes in Aiyyaa, was her co-star in No One Killed Jessica.
