Happy birthday 'Bumba Da': Prosenjit Chatterjee turns 50

Born on September 30, 1962, Prosenjit's father Biswajit Chatterjee was a famous actor in Bengali and Hindi movies.
Prosenjit Chatterjee debuted on silver screen with 'Chhoto Jiggasha' When he was just 4 year old.
'Duti Pata' (1983) was his first film as hero.
He gave many stage performances before becoming a film hero.
'Amar Shangi', opposite Vijayeta Pandit, established Prosenjit as a good actor.
Rituparno Ghosh's 'Chokher Bali' featured him with Aishwarya Rai. He demonstrated his class in the film.
He also walked the red carpet at the Cannes film festival for 'Chokher Bali'.
Prosenjit became director with Bengali film 'Purushottam'.

He bagged the BFJA Award as a child actor in his very first film.

In 2007, he received the National Award for his performance in 'Dosar'.
Prosenjit is said to be very fond of duck's eggs.
