Sridevi (1975-2012): Why hasn't Sridevi aged over the years?

The men she has acted with have all aged over the years, be it Anil Kapoor, Sunny Deol or Amitabh Bachchan. But Sridevi, who is back after a hiatus of 15 years with her film English Vinglish, doesn't seem to have aged. Her beauty is immortal and evergreen and frozen in time. She starred with Amitabh Bachchan in the political drama Inquilaab in 1984. Having lost a lot of weight, Sri has acquired a waif-like look now but she has never looked better.

Janbaaz, directed by Feroz Khan, also had Anil Kapoor and Dimple Kapadia in it. Sridevi played a drug addict in the film. While her heroes have gone on to take supporting roles, Sri took a hiatus from films to raise her children.

The superhero film directed by Shekhar Kapur starred Anil Kapoor and Sri in the lead roles. Sri says she is a hands-on mother. But she looks much younger than her 49.

She played a snake trapped in a human body in Nagina. The 1986 thriller, produced and directed by Harmesh Malhotra, had Rishi Kapoor in the lead role. While her contemporaries have shown visible signs of aging, Sri's face has remained frozen in time.

Naya Kadam of 1984 starred Rajesh Khanna in the lead role. It also starred Padmini Kolhapure, Sridevi and Jaya Prada. The film was a remake of the hit 1982 Telugu film, Trisulam that also starred Sridevi. The eyes are as youthful as they were in the 80s as Sri readies herself for English Vinglish.

Sridevi played Shehzadi Yasmeen Sultan in the 1986 film Sultanat opposite Sunny Deol. Sridevi will be the youngest 50 year old next year.

One of her early films, Tohfa was directed by K Raghavendra Rao and starred besides her, Jeetendra and Jaya Prada. The plot was based on a love triangle.
