Happy birthday Rajinikanth: The ultimate style bhai turns 62

One of the biggest stars of the Indian film industry Rajinikanth celebrates his birthday on December 12. He was born in the year 1950.
Rajinikanth's original name is Shivaji Rao Gaikwad. Bangalore is his birth place.
His father was a police constable. He was the youngest among his four siblings.
Rajinikanth's personal life is like a film story. The actor struggled a lot during his formative years.
From being a coolie to working as a bus conductor, Rajinikanth had to do several jobs to make both the ends meet.
However, Rajinikanth was always interested in performing arts. This led him to try his hands in Kannada plays.
An important moment came in his life when he fetched the attention of noted filmmaker K Balachander.
Balachander recognised Rajinikanth's talent and featured him with Srividya and Kamal Haasan in 'Apoorva Raagangal' (1975).
He made an image for himself through villainous roles. Probably he was waiting for the right moment to showcase his talent as the conventional hero.
SP Muthuraman featured Rajinikanth in a positive role in 'Bhuvana Oru Kelvikkuri' (1977). This was the start of a new era in the Southern film industry.
Rajinikanth kept his rustic charm intact even in positive roles and went on to give acclaimed films such as 'Aarilirunthu Arubathu Varai' (1979), 'Ninaithale Inikkum' (1979) and 'Amma Evarikkaina Amma' (1979).
He had become a well known name in Tamil, Telugu and Kannada films by now.
At a time when he was on the zenith of his success ladder in late 70s, Rajinikanth decided to quit acting but was persuaded back to it by friends and well wishers.
Slowly and steadily he gained the supreme position in the South cinema fraternity. His unique style and mannerism had become popular in Bollywood as well.
Growing age didn't spare him either and Rajinikanth started to appear in limited roles. Rajini's status made everything associated with his name a hit.
His last two films 'Sivaji' (2007) and 'Enthiran' (2010) consolidated his position at the box office even more. At the same time, Rajinikanth kept his social commitments.
Unlike many actors, he never shed away from showing his real side to the world. He accepts his flaws with grace as well.
His two daughters Aishwarya and Soundarya have turned directors now. Who other than Rajinikanth can be their mentor!
'Kochadaiyaan' will once again showcase the man in action. Rajinikanth's fans are waiting for this film with bated breath.
