However, some other actors were also as busy as them. Salman Khan gave two blockbusters in the form 'Ek Tha Tiger' and 'Dabangg 2'. He also did a cameo in 'Son of Sardaar'.
Nawazuddin Siddiqui emerged as the hero of the middle class in 2012. He was seen in films such as 'Kahaani', 'Talaash', 'Paan Singh Tomar', 'Gangs of Wasseypur', 'Chittagong', 'Dekh Indian Circus' and 'Miss Lovely'.
There is no match for experience and Mithun Chakraborty proved this via films like 'Housefull 2', 'Khiladi 786', 'Oh My God' and 'Noble Chor'.
Akshay Kumar would never forget 2012. This year he achieved a great success at the box office with films like 'Housefull 2', 'Rowdy Rathore', 'Oh My God', 'Khiladi 786' and 'Joker'.
Sonakshi Sinha turned out to be the luckiest mascot of Bollywood in 2012. She appeared in 'Rowdy Rathore', 'Son of Sardaar', 'Oh My God', 'Joker' and 'Dabangg 2'.
Paresh Rawal proved his calibre in 'Oh My God' but this was not his only film in 2012. He also acted in 'Ferrari Ki Sawari' and 'Kamaal Dhamaal Malamaal'. His forthcoming film 'Table No. 21' is going to be the first release of 2013.
'Barfi' brought Priyanka Chopra the elusive critical acclaim while 'Agneepath' fetched her the commercial success. However, 'Teri Meri Kahaani' didn't match up the hype around the film.
Anupam Kher has come a long way in Bollywood. Today he is among the highest paid character artists of the Hindi film industry. 'Chaar Din Ki Chandni', 'Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum' and 'Jab Tak Hai Jaan' gave him the chance to showcase his talent. 'Silver Linings Playbook' created ripples at the film festivals.
Ajay Devgn is among the underrated actors of Bollywood despite giving successful films. His 'Son of Sardaar' fought a successful battle against 'Jab Tak Hai Jaan' at the box office. 'Bol Bachchan' also became a hit, however 'Tezz' failed miserably.
Boman Irani took a big leap as a character artist with 'Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi'. He was featured in a number of films including 'Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu', 'Tezz', 'Housefull 2', 'Ferrari Ki Sawaari' and 'Cocktail'.
Three superhits in just one year. The spectators showered Katrina Kaif with their blessings in 'Ek Tha Tiger', 'Jab Tak Hai Jaan' and 'Agneepath'.
Asin's Hindi film career is just six films old but she has entered the Rs 100 crore club four times in such a small time. She gave three hits 'Housefull 2', 'Bol Bachchan' and 'Khiladi 786' in 2012.
