Fardeen charged with buying 1 gm of cocaine

Mumbai: The police on Tuesday framed charges against Bollywood actor Fardeen Khan in connection with a 2001 cocaine case.

The actor has been framed for buying one gram of cocaine. His actions will attract only six months in jail.

It came as a reprieve for Fardeen, who was earlier charged with possessing of 9 gm of cocaine.

Fardeen was arrested in 2001 and 10 gm of cocaine was allegedly seized from him outside a suburban Mumbai restraint. The actor has pleaded that he was negotiating the purchase of one gram of cocaine from a drug peddler when the narcotics control bureau arrested him in May 2001.
