HYDERABAD: A software engineer was booked for trying to marry a woman concealing his first marriage.
Though the software engineer married a woman four years back, none of his family members knew about it and planned his marriage with his cousin.
The marriage was put off at the last minute after the bride’s family came to know about his first marriage.
The 32-year-old software engineer, T Umeshwar Rao was a resident of Saroornagar.
"Umesh fell in love with a woman and married her at Arya Samaj in 2008 and the couple stayed at Saroornagar for some time.
Later, Umesh went to Ireland for studies and worked as a software engineer,'' Madannapet police inspector KN Suryaprakash said.
Umesh's wife is well-educated and had worked in Canada for some days.
It is said that Umesh's expenses on education were borne by his wife's family.
Umesh, however, did not let his family know that he had already married someone and were planning his marriage with his cousin since the past few years.
"The engagement was held in May 2011 and the marriage fixed for Sunday," the inspector said.
Two days back, Umesh told his wife about his family's plans.
"As she did not agree, he left her and has been missing.
A missing case was registered with Saroornagar police,'' police said.
