Kolkata: Celebrating the spirit of womanhood, leading Bangla band Chandrabindoo has composed a song 'Somoyer Indrani' dedicated to the present day woman in appreciation to her multitasking role, the first such move by any music band here.

"We value the role of present day women in our lives. We composed 'Somoyer Indrani' as a tribute to the role of a particular mother named Indrani who has brought up her daughter in an ideal way while attending to her other duties," Chandrabindoo's lead vocalist Anindyo told PTI here.

He said 'Somoyer Indrani', aired in an FM channel, was derived and inspired from our solo track in last Durga puja's Niharika album, sponsored by a popular hair oil brand, in which several artistes had also sung.

"We wish to cut an album, dedicating to the woman of the present age, by the Women's Day next year. It will be a tad different from our present offerings," he said.

Anindyo welcomed the induction of band members in composing film music saying "Bengali films' language is changing, and with it lyrics and music. They are now more in sync with the way of thinking of the present generation."
