The script of Ram Gopal Varma's Agyaat was apparently being developed by a certain writer named Sajith Warier - a claim that the director rubbishes. CNN-IBN caught with the director to find out what is the real story behind these claims. Here are excerpts from the interview.
CNN-IBN: So what is Agyaat all about? What are you scaring us with this time?
Ram Gopal Varma: For the want of a better word, you may call Agyaat an adventure thriller. In Hollywood, a lot of films have been made on this subject where a group of people have been trapped in a certain situation and something is out to kill them.
CNN-IBN: There is a writer called Sajith Warrier who claims that he had been roped in to develop the script, do you know him? What is the deal?
Ram Gopal Varma: See I meet at least seven or eight people on an average every week who come to pitch their scripts, ideas. This has been happening for 20 years. So I might have met him but I don't recall the name or what we discussed. Coming to his claim, these days this has become a fashion and not just with my films.
CNN-IBN: We also heard that Sarkar 3 has been shelved. Is that true?
Ram Gopal Varma: See first of all I never ever said that I am making Sarkar 3. After Shankar dies (in Sarkar Raj) and whatever Sarkar did, there was nothing left for me to say, so I had said that I can't do Sarkar 3 which the media speculated as "being shelved". Now I dont know what to say to that.
