Komal Ganatra, the only Gujarat woman to crack the UPSC exam this year
Thirty-two-year-old Komal Ganatra from Gujarat is the only woman from the state to have cracked the UPSC exam this year. After four attempts, the hard work has finally paid off. With a 591 ranking on the national merit list, she is an inspiration.

Meet Ruvaida, the first woman from Kupwara to crack the UPSC exam
Twenty-six-year old doctor Ruvaida Salam has become the first woman from the Kupwara district in Jammu and Kashmir to have cracked the Civil Services examination. Her name is now added to the small list of youth valley icons like IAS topper Shah Faesal and cricketer Parvez Rasool. She has done the Valley proud by being first woman from backward frontier Kupwara district to crack the civil services - a hitherto uncharted territory for girls here.

Bihar: Bureaucrats provide free coaching to IAS aspirants in Naxal-affected areas
Cracking the UPSC is a difficult proposition, especially for aspirants who live in Naxal-infested areas, with no access to proper coaching facilities. But all that has changed in Bihar's Banka district due to the efforts of District Magistrate Dipak Anand and his deputy Sub-Divisional Magistrate Mithilesh Mishra. Together, they conduct free coaching sessions for students taking the UPSC exam from this region.
