In his first two seasons with Force India, Paul di Resta did enough to get the attention of the likes of McLaren but in 2013, he remains with the Silverstone-based team for the third year running.
Having made his debut in 2011, he spent the previous season as a test and reserve driver for Force India, in a year which he also drove for Mercedes' DTM team. He won the title that year, which was one of the factors contributing to his step towards Formula 1.
Di Resta had not raced in single-seaters for five years but his debut season gave none of that away. After all, he comes from a racing family with cousins in Indycar star Dario Franchitti and sportscar driver Marino Franchitti.
He has even beaten Sebastian Vettel for the title, albeit in the Euro F3series in 2006. The Scot has progressed rapidly up the ranks with notable performances in the championships he contested in.
Although he scored more points in his second season in F1, he was outclassed by teammate Nico Hulkenberg, which earned the German a seat at chief rivals Sauber, which pipped Force India in the constructors' championship.
Regardless, di Resta has the reserves to put this minor blip behind him and start knocking on the doors at the front very soon.
