Jean-Eric Vergne may have struggled in his rookie season as he got his first look at many of the F1 circuits but significantly he upstaged a bit more experienced teammate Daniel Ricciardo. The Frenchman's skills were evident after he finished in eighth four times during the course the 2012 season.
When Jean-Eric Vergne's dad first took him karting at age four, it started a lifelong love of the sport that has ended up taking the young Frenchman all the way to F1. Now in his second season, he would be aiming to stay ahead of the competition and particularly his teammate.
Supported by France's motor sport governing body early in his career, he eventually came under Red Bull's wing and impressed when participating in the lower formulae. Vergne has a lot to offer but whether he will achieve his goals remains to be seen.
