Reg this problem, this is not the first time that this kind of incident is happening in India. It happened once in Bangalore, now in Pune. All I can say is, the company should be held responsible for this IRRESPONSIBLE act of recruiting these drivers. Remove the roots, everything will be alrite. Who is this Cab Driver? - Has the company performed a Background check, the company does these checks for all the employees before recruiting them, but why not rest of the staff? Now, the question arises from a woman employee - Can I go to office today? Show no mercy to these kind of people - EXECUTE THEM, there is no use of keeping these people alive (Unfortunately there is no law for this!!!). My girl friend is staying alone in a remote city and uses company cab, This worries me more. Coming to the point of Security of the employees - Make sure you recruit the correct personnel. In Cars, have a Radio equipment, At Starting point the driver has to report the location and the number of people, then at every drop location - the driver should report his location. Make this mandatory. If the doesnt do this, send in a back up team. Dont take any chances even if you know the driver for so many years..bla bla...Now these incidents has taught a lot of lessons. Atleast now Wake up Admin and HR people!!!

My suggestion is that all cab drivers who are supposed to pick up ladies for night shift work should be ladies themselves.

I work for an American Company in Gurgaon. Though, in my company there are all the arrangements for women's security but the behavious of the CAB staff and the administration is not satisfactory. There has been instances where women staff feels threatend and do not feel free to raise their concerns.

Company should go for a background check for the cab people and be more strict. I think company should be held responsible after all their employees are in stacke. If they say they are committed to employee they have to do lot and lot especially HR and Admin people.
