Mumbai: Over 6000 villages in 15 districts of Maharashtra are drought affected, and while the state government has announced extra funds for the areas, the government's plan to send 25 MLAs on the annual Commonwealth Parliamentary Board tour to Europe at such a time has met with severe criticism, particularly from MNS Chief Raj Thackeray, whose party sent out a letter requesting the MLAs to cancel the planned trip.
