Exactly 50 years ago, the Indian Army suffered its darkest hour as the country went to war with China in 1962. CNN-IBN spoke to the veterans who reminisced about how they bravely fought the Chinese forces. Colonel Harbans Singh was a Company Commander in the 4th Sikh regiment. He fought in Walong, the Eastern-most sector of India touching Tibet, China and Myanmar. Brigadier KS Kang was a Captain during the 1962 war and fought at Chushul. Retired Lt Col Haripal Kaushik was a Vir Chakra winner. He was in the Sikh Regiment and fought in Namka Chu. Captain Kaushik represented India in hockey at the 1956, 1960 and 1964 Olympics.
