Lucknow: Bahujan Samaj Party chief and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati has called for President rule in the state following the alleged rape and murder of a woman professional in Noida. 'Crime is on the rise in UP. Murder, communal riots, rapes. The latest case being a Dalit girl's rape and murder. It's unfortunate that the Samajwadi Party government instead of arresting the accused, is trying to shield them. So I think it's time to ask for President's rule in Uttar Pradesh,' Mayawati said.
