Obama wins first south contest, native Edward loses

Atlanta (Georgia), USA: After weeks of campaigning, Democrats in South Carolina have spoken and the winner of the first southern contest of the 2008 race is Barack Obama. Grabbing his second primary victory, Obama took home over 50 per cent of the total votes and 80 per cent of the black votes, which made up about half of the voter turnout.
