Mumbai: Markets opened for the first time after the General Elections 2009 results that were declared on Saturday, May 16. The markets got their chance to react to the results on a Monday, unlike five years ago. This time it was not a Black Monday, but a Golden Monday instead. Both, the Sensex and the Nifty hit their upper circuits twice and trading even had to be brought to a halt. Eleven seconds into an opening first at 0955 hrs IST and then yet again in just 8 seconds at 1155 hrs IST, history of sorts was created yet again on this street of dreams as the stock market.
