On April 2, 2004, Bangladesh claimed its biggest-ever arms haul when it cracked down on a jetty belonging to a Bangladesh-based chemicals company. Bangladesh claimed it got 10 trucks loaded with 2,000 assault rifles - including AK-47, AK-56, 150 T-69 rocket-propelled grenade launchers, 27,000 grenades made by ARGES and 11,39,000 bullets were recovered. CNN-IBN investigation finds the arms haul could have links to very senior former Bangladeshi and Pakistani officials, including Intelligence chiefs, ministers and Diplomats who could all have been passing weapons terror group ULFA.
